Sterile Processing Technician
This is a full-time, first shift position in Sidney, OH. Full Benefits Package - Medical, Vision, Dental and Life Insurance

Education Reimbursement
~ Assists the Operating Room (OR) staff in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established Federal, State and accreditation standards and center policies and procedures. Responsible for instrument decontamination, sterile processing, and instrument care and handling and documentation and record keeping related to those activities.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Prepares instruments according to manufacturer and facility guidelines, and supplies by wrapping in peel pack, or in AMSCO containers and proper storage. Job Knowledge / Responsibilities - Performs their duties in an ethical and legal manner within the scope of their job. Follows standard precaution procedures using personal protective equipment. Understands principles of sterilization and the operation of sterilization equipment, tray and load tracking, daily equipment monitoring with Bowie Dick test, chemical indicators, and biologics.

Documents missing, damaged, newly ordered, borrowed and sent for repair instruments. Documents maintenance of equipment. Participates in continuing education/in-service training as needed, staff meetings, and the QAPI/Infection Control programs. Flexible work schedule.
High School diploma or GED required
LANGUAGE SKILLS / COMPUTER SKILLS
Autoclave, washer-sterilization, ultrasonic cleaner, biological test incubator, medical gas canisters, surgical instruments, equipment, machinery and medical supplies.
Printer, copier, telephone, and fax
Decontamination, chemical indicators, prevac, computer, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
ACCIDENT OR HEALTH HAZARDS
Blood Borne pathogen risk classification category #1
Exposure to substances/chemicals, i.e. alcohol, peroxide, bleach
