Hvacr Assembly Lab Technician
Based in our Sidney, OH, location, you will support the design, development, and qualification of oil-free centrifugal compressors for HVACR systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside product and design engineers in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment.
As an HVACR Assembly Lab Technician, you will:
- Assemble and test centrifugal compressors following detailed engineering build instructions
- Operate laboratory assembly and measurement equipment, including hydraulic presses, micrometers, torque wrenches, pressure gauges, voltage meters, and standard hand tools
- Fabricate supporting components for non-standard tests, including brazing, soldering, grinding, sanding/lapping, drilling/tapping, and wiring
- Collect and document build data to ensure compliance with standards and takt times
- Assist with general laboratory upkeep and maintenance
Schedule:
This position is for 1st shift and would consist of five-eight-hour workdays. Capable of working overtime. This role is based fully onsite and not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.
Required Education, Experience & Skills
- Associate degree in a related field and three (3) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Practical, hands-on experience working with mechanical equipment and basic instrumentation
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications
- Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. Sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Education, Experience & Skills
- Five (5) or more years of experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment
- Hands-on expertise in mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing equipment.
- Tool and die experience
- Familiarity with controls systems and basic PLC concepts
- Experience with brazing and soldering techniques
- Background or certifications in automotive or diesel mechanics
