Wilson Health is looking for a direct hire Medical Surgical-Telemetry Health Unit Coordinator/Patient Care Technician for our location in Sidney, Ohio (North Dayton, Ohio) area.

Description:

Wilson Health's Acute Care Department is a 23-bed medical-surgical
-telemetry unit. This unit is where patients receive active but short-term treatment for a server injury or episode of illness, an urgent medical condition, or during recovery from surgery.

Job Summary:

The Medical-Surgical Telemetry Health Unit Coordinator (HUC)/Patient Care Technician (PCT) prepares and compiles records in nursing unit of hospital facility and provides essential patient care under direction of Registered Nurse.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the computer entry of patient information/registration and physician orders to ensure continuity of care.

* Assist with the coordination of activities of the unit and ensures the necessary supplies are available to provide patient care.

* Assure opens and timely communication with the patient, their significant others and team members to ensure the occurrence of therapeutic interventions.

* Under direction of the RN/LPN, assists in meeting the physical and emotional needs of the patient on his/her assigned unit. The patient population would include: the young-middle aged adult patient, and the geriatric patient.

* Under the direction of the RN/LPN, carry out assigned treatments and procedures.

* The HUC/PCT shall provide care based on ethical concepts, respect for life, dignity, human worth and the individuality of human beings.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Successfully completed an approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program; or three to six months related hospital experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

* Ability to read and communicate effectively in English with strong interpersonal skills.

* Current certification in Basic Life Support
