The Maintenance Tech A works with managers, supervisors, tool room personnel, other maintenance personnel, lead people, and set-up people to maintain the grounds, building, and facility support equipment used in general production.
Starting Rate of pay:$26.02/hour
Shifts Available andHours:
1st shift (6:00 AM-2:30PM)
What you will be doing- Supports production needs through timely maintenance and facility-related repairs.
- Set up and operate maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) activities on building systems, support equipment, and assigned production assets.
- Complete work orders for facility and equipment repairs as requested by management, supervisors, and production personnel.
- Install and maintain:
- Electrical systems (120V and 3-phase 480V circuits)
- Conduit and cable pathways
- Low voltage/data cabling
- Compressed air lines, piping systems, and black iron pipe
- Perform rigging and movement of equipment and machinery as required.
- Perform welding and basic fabrication to support repairs and improvements.
- Assist in building maintenance including plumbing, pipe fitting, and general facility upkeep.
- Take direction from production supervision when prioritizing maintenance needs.
- Maintain high customer service level to production departments.
- Ensure PM schedules are followed and tasks are completed on time.
- Identify and request necessary parts, materials, and supplies.
- Notify Maintenance Management of major repairs or safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; return production areas to proper condition after completing work.
- Work with urgency to minimize downtime and improve overall facility reliability.
- Exhibit a professional and positive attitude at all times.
- Work overtime as needed, sometimes with little notice.
- Do not leave jobs incomplete without supervisor approval.
Required Education/
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- Must have experience with:
- Electrical systems (120V and 480V 3-phase)
- Running conduit and pulling wire
- Pipe installation and threading (black iron pipe)
- Welding and basic fabrication
- Equipment rigging and movement
- Low voltage/data line installation
Experience:
- 2 or more years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Technical training is a plus.
- Ability to perform building and facility maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs.
- Must be able to read blueprints, schematics, and basic electrical drawings.
- Must be able to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment including power tools, saws, and shop equipment.
- Basic understanding of pneumatic systems preferred.
- Must make sound decisions, manage time efficiently, and accurately identify required parts and materials.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must maintain and enforce plant safety procedures at all times.
- Must pass a drug screen and physical exam (accommodations made per ADA).
- Must be able to lift 50–80 pounds frequently during an 8–10-hour shift.
- You should possess standard personal tools required for the job.
- Must successfully complete a ninety (90) day orientation period.
