Summary

Drives a vehicle to transport donated materials from collection to processing, to point of sale, accepts merchandise donations, loads and unloads trucks, maintains records and complies with safety and company policies.

Responsibilities

Picks up donations of furniture, appliances and household goods at various locations.

Loads and sorts materials on trailer and straight trucks according to instructions.

Drives straight truck to various donation sites and unloads safely and efficiently.

Maintains a cheerful and pleasant disposition when serving customers.

Maintains records of donations and provides daily reports on trailer and straight truck condition.

Follows instruction on care of trailer and posting of signs as needed.

Ensures all proper agency‑specific logs and paperwork are completed legibly and submitted in a timely manner.

Maintains premises in compliance with agency safety and housekeeping practices.

Shows promptness and punctuality while making Goodwill Store deliveries according to schedule.

Assists in unloading or loading trucks at dock.

Maintains driving and truck records, including maintenance and mileage reports, and keeps truck equipped with first aid kit and fire extinguisher.

Maintains safety equipment and restraints according to policy; keeps high safety standards.

Operates equipment safely, identifying and correcting outstanding safety concerns.

Adheres to local and state traffic regulations.

Complies with Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley rules and regulations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Is able to drive a manual and automatic vehicle.

Complies with all agency policies, procedures and safety standards to meet CARF, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Helper if assigned.

Education Requirements

Must have a valid CDL License Class A and a current Medical Examiner's Certificate. Driving record of the last 2 years must be insurable (4 points or less).
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Experience Requirements

At least 1‑1/2 ton van type truck driving experience with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to maintain daily reports of mileage, fuel usage and similar trip documents.

Qualifications

Must pass a criminal background check and random drug screen.
Must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider; must immediately notify Human Resources if unable to maintain.
Acceptable driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider.

Skills & Abilities

Load and unload trucks of merchandise including clothing, household goods, furniture and appliances.
Follow map to route efficiently.
