The Driver‑Fleet Manager (East) will directly oversee Pike drivers within their designated area (Maine & New Hampshire). The role focuses on trucking execution and customer service, utilizing telematics and scheduling to drive performance. The selected candidate will develop and maintain a strategic plan for the delivery business that aligns with corporate objectives. Responsibilities include customer service, recruitment, retention, staffing, compliance, driver safety, and productivity training.

- Manage driver performance.
- Directly supervise all drivers, including annual performance appraisals, hiring, discipline, training, and scheduling safety and mentor meetings.
- Daily coordination and scheduling with transportation department and dispatch.
- Monitor driver performance at the yard, plant, and on the job site. Provide leadership and direction to the driver workforce. Interpret and work effectively within the guidelines of the company charter.
- Assist with customer relations (concerns, issues).
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and assist with audits as required.
- Coordinate with the dispatch manager for scheduling, driver conduct performance, attendance, and apprenticeship programs.
- Communicate regularly with foremen, estimators, and project managers to improve productivity and trucking efficiency.
- Follow up on delivery and driver complaints.
- Manage route plans to and from jobs, ensuring internal and external drivers have all necessary information prior to driving to the job.
- Handle all property damage complaints associated with drivers and ensure proper reporting of incidents.
- Coordinate and resolve delivery access problems.
- Recruit haulers.
- Plan long‑term trucking needs with construction and plants.
- Investigate and coordinate with the safety director regarding all driver‑related property damage and industrial injury accidents. Complete reports and take appropriate disciplinary action (warning letter, suspension, or termination).
- Participate in accident review and learning teams.
- Responsible for job site evaluations.
- Proficient in technologies that manage performance and other KPIs.
- Assist with customer service and help meet customer needs.
- Build relationships between customers and drivers.
- Maintain continuous communication with 3rd‑party sales and scales to ensure delivery availability at facilities.
