We are seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support our precision machining operation in Sidney, Ohio. This role is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing materials, maintaining accurate inventory records, preparing shipments, and ensuring materials move efficiently throughout the manufacturing process.
The ideal candidate has experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory control, or manufacturing logistics and is comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment where accuracy and attention to detail are critical.
This position works closely with Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Transportation partners to ensure materials are received correctly, inventory stays accurate, and customer shipments are delivered on time.
What You'll Do Receiving & Material Control- Receive incoming materials, components, and supplies from vendors and carriers.
- Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation.
- Inspect incoming materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Enter receiving transactions accurately into ERP or inventory systems.
- Label, organize, and distribute materials to appropriate storage or production areas.
- Monitor supplier deliveries and outside processing shipments.
- Prepare, package, and process customer shipments according to specifications.
- Create shipping documents including:
- Bills of lading
- Packing lists
- Shipping labels
- Carrier documentation
- Schedule freight pickups and coordinate with transportation providers.
- Verify shipment accuracy before products leave the facility.
- Track shipments and assist with resolving delivery issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and transaction documentation.
- Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory activities.
- Maintain organized material locations and storage areas.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and support corrective actions.
- Keep shipping and warehouse areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
- Safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Follow quality procedures and customer-specific shipping requirements.
- Support a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of experience in:
- Shipping and receiving
- Warehouse operations
- Inventory control
- Manufacturing logistics
- Experience using ERP systems or inventory management software preferred.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents and basic instructions.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Previous experience in a precision manufacturing, aerospace, machining, or industrial environment.
- Experience with ERP systems
- Forklift certification or prior forklift experience.
- Experience supporting production teams with material flow.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday.
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, and move materials.
- Ability to frequently lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment.
