Early Childhood-Assistant Teacher​/Floater, Shepherd's Fold

Summary

We're seeking a passionate, energetic, and nurturing Assistant Teacher to join our [Preschool/Toddler/Infant] team at Shepherd's Fold Child Care Center! You'll work closely with the Lead Teacher to create a stimulating, safe, and inclusive environment, supporting children's intellectual, social, and emotional growth through engaging, play-based learning experiences.

• Assist in implementing daily lesson plans and age-appropriate activities.
• Provide individualized attention, ensuring a supportive atmosphere for every child.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized classroom and playground.
• Help with daily routines: meals, hygiene (handwashing, potty training), naps, and transitions.
• Supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Observe and document children's progress and behavior.
• Communicate effectively with lead teachers, parents, and administrative staff.
• Follow all center policies, DCFS regulations, and Shepherd's Fold performance standard.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Current Food Handlers certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Current Fingerprint clearance prior to start of work.

• Associates or higher in Early Childhood Education (Preferred).
• Current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
• 1+ year experience in early childhood education (Preferred).
• Knowledge of child development principles and modern educational methods.
• Patience, creativity, flexibility, and a genuine love for children.
