Position: Member Services Representative I

Serves as liaison between the member and the Credit Union. Responsible for providing account information, opening new accounts, answering basic lending questions, and professionally handling members’ daily credit union needs.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • All duties listed under Teller.
  • Responsible for cross selling all products and services the credit union offers to its members.
  • Represent the Credit Union to the members in a courteous and professional manner and provide prompt, efficient and accurate service in the processing of transactions.
  • Adhere to all requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, Anti‑Money Laundering Act, and US Patriot Act. Complete Bank Secrecy Act training and pass the annual test.
  • Use OFAC to screen individuals when opening new accounts and screen account beneficiaries. Screen members and non‑members when conducting monetary transactions per credit union CIP procedures.
  • Complete Unusual Activity Reports and utilize the Cash Transaction Log to monitor for suspicious activity.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in communication, including listening and writing.
Abilities
  • Perform routine transactions: order checks and ATM cards, process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, mail transactions, line of credit advances, check cashing, etc.
  • Open new accounts, service existing accounts, and close accounts, providing members with necessary information during orientation interviews on Credit Union services and products.
  • Respond to members’ requests, problems, and complaints or direct them to the appropriate person for assistance.
  • Provide in‑person and telephone service‑related information concerning credit union services and policies.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude toward all persons, including staff, members, board members, and vendors.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor regarding problems, irregularities, new developments, changes, and important information within the area of responsibility.
  • Cross‑train in other departments upon management request.
  • Maintain security of the work area and ensure an organized, neat appearance.
  • Protect and respect Credit Union equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all information and transactions concerning Credit Union members.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Adhere to the facility dress code.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Follow safety and security rules and regulations.
  • Participate in continuing education approved by supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor.
