This position provides services for First Baptist Private School K-6 students. This is a grant-funded position, and the position is contingent upon the availability of grant funds.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
* Appropriate teaching certificate as issued by the State of Arizona.
* Reading or math endorsement preferred, but not required
* Possess qualities of high work ethic, dedication, and accountability, and have demonstrated the ability to organize and manage
* Maintains regular attendance
POSITION SUMMARY
The Title I After School Tutor is responsible for providing ELA and Math tutoring to K-6 students identified to receive Title I tutoring.
FUNCTIONS
* Provides on-site after school tutoring for identified Title I students.
* Communicates with site teachers regarding specific needs of the identified students.
* Communicates with parents regarding progress of Title I students.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Implement a variety of assessment instruments to determine eligibility and instructional needs of students in reading and/or math. Collect and monitor student data and provide pre-and post-assessment data to site and SVUSD admin.
* Provide a variety of situational, appropriate instructional techniques and methods. Use techniques and methodologies appropriate to students' abilities.
* Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective student learning.
* Develop, communicate and enforce expectations for student behavior and participation.
* Communicate goals and academic expectations to students.
* Provide students with feedback on their performance so they can take an active role in their own success.
* Provide for the health and safety of students in all instructional settings.
* Prepare effectively for instruction and employ effective instructional strategies.
* Prepare daily lesson plans that address student skill deficits and that actively engage all students.
* Communicate learning targets.
* Use a balance of direct instruction, guided practice and individual practice.
* Use effective engagement strategies to include effective questioning strategies to engage students cognitively.
* Assess progress regularly and communicate to students, staff and families.
* Develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
* Maintain a cooperative relationship with all members of the school community.
* Communicate effectively with administration, parents, staff, and students.
* Instruct and direct assigned instructional assistants to maximize delivery of instructional services.
* Provide timely and accurate feedback/documentation to students and parents and program supervisor.
* Maintain appropriate records of student performance.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The Title I Tutor reports to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
SALARY:
* Tutor Instruction $35.00 an hour, hours to be determined from start date to May 21, 2026
* Tutor Planning $35.00 an hour, hours to be determined from start date to May 21, 2026
WORK YEAR:
* Immediate Start through May 21, 2026
