Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university.
- Appropriate teaching certificate as issued by the State of Arizona to include appropriate vocational certification and endorsements.
- Knowledge, skill, or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or willingness to receive training in those strategies.
- Utilize, with fidelity, the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
- Maintain confidentiality of information obtained in course of duties.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies, including mandatory reporting procedures.

- Assist students toward the attainment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals; establish desired student performance objectives for all lessons, units, and projects; communicate these objectives to students.
- Assess students to determine whether desired objectives are being achieved.
- Plan, after identifying student needs, a program of study.
- Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
- Diagnose learning disabilities of students on a regular basis and refer to appropriate specialists when needed.
- Evaluate students’ accomplishments fairly and provide progress reports as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Provide an atmosphere, physical and psychological, conducive to learning.
- Maintain accurate permanent academic and attendance records for students.
- Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Governing Board Policy.
- Attend and participate in general faculty and department meetings.
- Cooperate with other staff members in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional equipment.
- Establish and maintain cooperative relations with others.
- Maintain and improve professional competence.
- Maintain active and harmonious involvement in community affairs.
- Perform other reasonable duties as may be directed by the Principal.
- Implement by instruction and action the District philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the curriculum, subject content, and the developmental needs of students by providing relevant learning experiences.
- Plan using the state’s standards, the school’s curriculum, data, and engaging and appropriate strategies and resources to meet the needs of all students.
- Use a variety of research‑based instructional strategies relevant to the content area to engage students in active learning, to promote key skills, and to meet individual learning needs.
- Systematically gather, analyze, and use relevant data to measure student progress, guide instructional content and delivery methods, and provide timely feedback to students, parents, and stakeholders.
