QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Appropriate teaching certificate as issued by the State of Arizona to include appropriate vocational certification and endorsements.
Reading Specialist Endorsement and/or CLIP or Reading Recovery Trained
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Utilize, with fidelity, the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
- Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies; including mandatory reporting procedures.

To assist students toward the attainment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation.
- Implementby instruction and action the District philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
- Guidethe learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals; in harmony with the goals, establishes desired student performance objectives for all lessons, units, and projects; communicates these objectives to students.
- Assessstudents to determine whether desired student performance objectives are being achieved.
- Plan, after identifying student needs, a program of study.
- Employinstructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
- Diagnosethe learning disabilities of students on a regular basis and refers to appropriate specialist where need exists.
- Evaluate, conscientiously and fairly, the accomplishments of students and provides progress reports as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation.
- Providean atmosphere, physical and psychological, conducive to learning.
- Maintain accurate permanent academic and attendance records for students.
- Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
- Assistin upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Governing Board Policy.
- Attendand participates in general faculty and department meetings.
- Cooperatewith other staff members in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Assistin the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional equipment.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others.
- Maintain and improveprofessional competence.
- Maintainactive and harmonious involvement in community affairs.
- Perform other reasonable duties as may be directed by the Principal.
- The teacher demonstrates an understanding of the curriculum, subject content, and the developmental needs of students by providing relevant learning experiences.
- The teacher plans using the state's standards, the school's curriculum, data, and engaging and appropriate strategies and resources to meet the needs of all students.
- The teacher uses a variety of research-based instructional strategies relevant to the content area to engage students in active learning, to promote key skills, and to meet individual learning needs.
- The teacher systematically gathers, analyzes, and uses relevant data to measure student progress, guide instructional content and delivery methods, and provide timely feedback to students, parents, and stakeholders.
