Position Summary:
The Instructor of Nursing - License Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for instruction, organization, development and planning of the LPN Certificate Program, facilitating instruction in didactic, skills lab, clinical areas, and assisting with all educational components associated with the nursing program. They provide quality education and perform instructional‑related duties in accordance with college philosophy, mission, policies, and procedures, serving as teacher, mentor and facilitator of learning.

Salary depends upon qualifications. Minimum rate for a bachelor's degree with no experience. Maximum rate for a doctorate with five or more years of professional relevant experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:- Manage and teach assigned nursing courses and maintain written instructional standards; facilitate instruction using alternate delivery methods as needed; inform students in writing of instructional standards; post and maintain weekly office hours; participate in assessment of student learning outcomes; establish, maintain, and submit accurate student and instructional records in a timely manner.
- Develop new courses, curriculum, instructional materials, and evaluation tools; review and update course outlines, textbooks, and procedure sheets; assist with preparation of course proposals, curriculum updates, and construction of degree/certificate programs.
- Apply and maintain standards of quality, operating methods, processes, systems, and procedures; implement changes as necessary to sustain a successful LPN certificate program; integrate knowledge of industry trends and professional training to continuously improve program quality.
- Participate in nursing course scheduling, departmental and college meetings; ongoing maintenance of the Systematic Evaluation Plan (SEP); serve on college committees as assigned.
- Incorporate Core Competencies of Academic Nurse Educators as defined by National Leave of Nursing (NLN).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Nursing Education from an accredited institution, preferred Advanced Practice Certification.
- Arizona Registered Nurses Licensure.
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR Certification.
- Five years of professional Registered Nurse experience.
- Arizona DPS Fingerprint clearance card for clinical access.
- Successful completion of Cochise College’s Medical History and Physical.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Three years’ teaching experience in nursing education, preferably in a community college setting.
- Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Expertise in skills training and tutoring (individual or small group).
- Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of trends, developments, new technologies affecting the Nursing program.
- Knowledge of curriculum and program development.
- Knowledge of public relations/marketing practices and methods.
- Skill in current technologies and software (word processing, database, presentation, spreadsheet), specifically Microsoft Office applications.
- Skill in instructing students from diverse cultures or backgrounds.
- Skill in authentic assessment to evaluate students’ needs and progress.
- Skill in creating, adapting, and implementing student‑directed, participatory, project‑based curriculum.
