Performs routine member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers and check cashing.

• The following duties are normal of this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
• Enter into in-house computer system routine member transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, transfers, check cashing, and loan payments, ensuring that payments equal the amount due and that all late charges, if applicable, are collected.
• Responsible for cross selling all products and services the credit union offers to its members.
• Adhere to all requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, Anti-Money Laundering Act and US Patriot Act.
• Use OFAC to screen individuals when opening new accounts and screen account beneficiaries. Screen members and non-members when doing monetary transactions per credit union CIP procedures.
• Must complete Unusual Activity Report and utilize Cash Transaction Log to monitor for suspicious activity.
• Complete Bank Secrecy Act training and pass the Bank Secrecy Act test annually.
• Greet members and guests to the Credit Union in a professional and courteous manner.
• Provide members with the forms necessary to transact business at the Credit Union.
• Examine checks for endorsements and negotiability.
• Provide members with proper receipts for transactions.
• Respond to members requests, problems and complaints, and/or direct them to the proper person for specific information and assistance.
• Assist members in closing accounts.
• Process stop payments on share draft accounts.
• Provide routine information on Credit Union services or policies, including eligibility for membership, types of Credit Union accounts, insurance on loans, loan policies, interest rates, current dividend rates, locations, office hours and telephone numbers.
• Sell money orders, Travelers Cheques, and official Credit Union checks.
• Provide members with account status, including current balances and loan pay-offs.
• Process mail and drop box transactions.
• Answer the telephone.
• Balance teller drawer at the end of the work day.
• Branch ATM responsibilities:
  • Assist loading the ATM with cash.
  • Assist with balancing of ATM.
  • Process ATM deposits.
  • Maintain an ongoing communication with supervisor, informing him/her of all pertinent problems, irregularities, new developments, changes and other important information within area of responsibility.
• Cross-train in other departments at the request of management.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude with all people, including fellow employees, members, management staff, board members and outside vendors.
• Maintain the security of work area and ensure it presents an organized and neat appearance.
• Protect and respect Credit Union equipment and supplies.
• Ensure that all information and transactions regarding Credit Union members are kept confidential.
• Report to work on time and as scheduled.
• Adhere to facility dress code.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Follow safety and security rules and regulations.
• Secure and un-secure branch as necessary.
