Job Overview

Fusion Medical Staffing seeks a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Assignment: 13 weeks, 12‑hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, as a travel nursing assignment.

Facility:
Sierra Vista, Arizona.

• One year recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC).

• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification.
• NIHSS certification.
• Other mandatory certifications/licenses may apply.

A Stepdown Registered Nurse provides care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical or general inpatient units, monitoring telemetry, administering medications, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data; respond to abnormalities.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, focusing on cardiac care.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during cardiac procedures and examinations.
• Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients.
• Record significant conditions and reactions; notify supervisors or physicians as needed.
• Respond to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, protocols for cardiac emergencies.
• Document nursing history and physical assessment for telemetry patients.
• Initiate patient education focused on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for comprehensive telemetry patient care.
• Maintain confidentiality of patients and client information.
• Perform other duties within scope of practice.
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.

• Critical thinking and service excellence; strong interpersonal communication.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating English.
• PC skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Physical ability: remain stationary, move equipment up to 50‑100 lbs, push, pull, bend.
• Professional attitude, teamwork, and effective collaboration with diverse personnel.
• Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation and assistance with procedures; physical and mental aptitude for irregular schedules and high concentration.
