Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health

12 hour shifts | PRN

As an RN in the Behavioral Health Department at Canyon Vista Medical Center, you will deliver patient care through the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and triage. You will collaborate with an interprofessional team to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and high-quality outcomes.

• Perform plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Coordinate care across disciplines (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
• Assess learning needs and deliver age- and culture-appropriate patient and family education.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.
• Participate in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provide quality patient care and work other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on‑call.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Current Arizona or compact state RN license.
• Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school (Bachelor’s or Master’s preferred).
• BCLS required;
  Handle With Care certification preferred.
• One year of experience preferred.
