Our Emergency Department is a 22‑bed unit within a Level III Trauma Center. Nurses thrive in an environment that values teamwork, professional growth, and clinical excellence.
How You’ll Contribute:
As an RN in the ED, you will operate within a trauma III hospital setting, ensuring patients receive optimal medical attention and support.
- Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
- Documents patient care provided.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
- Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
- Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
- Maintains reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Patient populations served include neonate, infant, early childhood, late childhood, adolescent, young adult, middle adult, older adult.

Applicants should have a current Arizona or compact state RN license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required;
Bachelor’s or Master’s preferred. - Active Arizona or Compact RN license.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, HAZMAT and Handle with Care certifications required within 90 days of hire.
- TNCC required within one year of hire.
- One year of experience preferred.
Canyon Vista Medical Center is located in Sierra Vista, Arizona and is a 106‑bed Joint Commission‑accredited facility offering a Level III Trauma unit and a range of specialty services. We serve our community with a Level I Nursery, Total Joint Replacement Center of Excellence, and other advanced services.
