Full Charge Bookkeeper

Full Charge Bookkeeper Pay rate- $32-38/hr location:
Signal Hill

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage the company's daily bookkeeping and accounting work. This person will keep the books accurate, up to date, and organized. The right person should be able to work on their own, stay organized, meet deadlines, and handle many accounting tasks. Experience working for a small business, larger company, CPA firm, or accounting department is helpful.

• Keep the general ledger accurate and up to date.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Enter vendor bills and customer payments.
• Follow up on unpaid customer accounts.
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
• Prepare and enter journal entries.
• Complete monthly and year-end closing tasks.
• Track customer payments and help with collections.
• Schedule and process vendor payments.
• Keep vendor and customer records accurate.
• Help with payroll and payroll-related entries.
• Help track cash flow and prepare reports for management.
• Help with budgets and basic financial reports.
• Track inventory and cost of goods sold.
• Research and correct accounting differences or errors.
• Help with sales tax and other business filings.
• Prepare reports and records for CPAs, tax professionals, auditors, and other outside advisors.
• Find unusual or incorrect account balances and correct or report them.
• Help create and follow accounting procedures and controls.
• Keep accounting records organized and complete.

• Previous experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar accounting role.
• Good knowledge of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closing.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organization and follow-through.
• Ability to find and correct accounting errors.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work with little supervision.
• Good Excel skills.
• Comfortable learning accounting and business software.
• Able to handle private financial and employee information with care.

• Experience handling many accounting tasks for a small or mid-sized business.
• Experience working in a larger accounting department or CPA firm.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or another business that manages inventory.
• Experience with Quick Books Online.
• Experience with inventory, cost of goods sold, payroll, sales tax, and cash-flow reports.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field is helpful, but strong work experience may be accepted instead.

• Books and account records are accurate, current, and organized.
• Bank and other account reconciliations are completed on time.
• Monthly closing tasks are completed correctly.
• Accounting problems are found and fixed quickly.
• Management receives accurate and timely financial information.
• CPAs, auditors, and other outside advisors receive complete and organized records when needed.
