- Prepare necessary equipment, labor, regulatory, and technical aspects of projects
- Manage projects from start to finish, including determining project length and cost
- Visit customer sites as needed to ensure safety and customer satisfaction
- Assess equipment and labor needs, project timelines, and costs while maintaining budget adherence
- Manage and conduct environmental assessments, investigations, and remediation activities
- Develop written project proposals, assess associated costs, and establish pricing
- Develop project objectives and coordinate with leadership on field service activities
- Assign personnel to project phases and review contractor bids for waste disposal or destruction options
- Schedule resources, submit paperwork, negotiate with regulatory agency personnel, and prepare plans and compliance documents
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, update clients, negotiate plan changes, and adjust costs
- Manage Emergency Response projects, operations, activities, and field personnel; supervise Emergency Response crews as needed
- Supervise field personnel and instruct them on safe work methods and procedures
- Provide technical support to field service locations and staff
- Participate in hiring, performance evaluation, promotion, and disciplinary decisions
- Approve monthly billing and handle administrative, credit, and collection matters for assigned projects
- Travel to customer sites, work outdoors as needed, and remain on-call
- Perform sample collection and other field activities when necessary
- Take on additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree required; technical field such as chemistry, engineering, or environmental science preferred
- 3+ years of experience in hazardous waste management or environmental services, including remediation or emergency response, required
- Alternatively, 7+ years of relevant hazardous waste management or environmental services experience in lieu of a degree
- Ability to prepare project proposals, plans, compliance documents, and cost estimates
- Knowledge of environmental assessments, investigations, remediation, emergency response, and hazardous waste operations
- Ability to assess equipment and labor requirements and manage project budgets and timelines
- Ability to negotiate with regulatory agency personnel and contractors
- Ability to supervise field personnel and emergency response crews
- Ability to travel to customer sites and work in outdoor weather conditions
- Ability to remain on-call
- CHMM certification preferred
- Post-offer drug screen and background check required
Demonstrates expertise in managing hazardous waste projects, including environmental assessments, remediation, and emergency response operations. Proficient in preparing project proposals, compliance documents, and managing budgets while ensuring safety and customer satisfaction.
