Physical Education Teacher – Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled
Salary: $52,488 - $65,016 (base salary; adjustments and shift differentials may apply)
What You’ll Do- Design and implement an appropriate motor and leisure program for students with severe disabilities, taking into account school, community, and home learning environments.
- Analyze students’ learning styles based on charted progress and adapt teaching strategies and activities to meet their specific motor and leisure skill needs.
- Follow individual students’ behavioral support plans.
- Develop and follow an instructionally time‑efficient daily schedule for the implementation of the students’ motor and leisure programs.
- Follow student‑specific special health‑care procedures as trained by the school nurse.
- Maintain confidentiality of parent, student, and staff personally identifiable information.
- Follow policies and guidelines of the MSSD program.
- Accurately complete required reports on or before established deadlines.
- Maintain CPR certification at the level determined by the American Heart Association or Red Cross as Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Missouri teaching certificate for physical education
- Experience with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- The position requires a professional license pursuant to state law.
