SUIT Engineers play a crucial role in supporting the factory by validating and assisting with planned changes in manufacturing related to Innovations. This involves maintaining cost-effective production while optimizing processes and adopting a flexible approach to challenges such as labor shortages, raw material shortages, supply chain disruptions, technological and product innovations. The position reports to the Product and Innovation Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Listen with R&D, Marketing and Supply Chain Manufacturing to propose a solution for Innovation project.
- Identify the make/supply solutions to solve the problem.
- Marketing together with R&D Design, identify the ambition for the consumer experience and how this will be delivered through product, process, and packaging design.
- Follow Early Product Management methodology to forecast resources and Capex needed, and to determine how likely the project is to hit launch.
- The starting point is to provide an initial technical brief describing the problem and proposed solutions.
- Develop project brief with R&D team.
- Complete due diligence on the supply chain elements foreseen for the Validate Phase testing/launch plans (including transit trials where necessary). Define testing plan to define any risk, and propose mitigation plan, eg pilot plant trials, factory trials, transport trials, etc.
- Capex survey and approval (If new capabilities are required).
- Assess the future fit of the capabilities of new assets.
- Risk assessment to the agreed CRQS/PQS (SHE and Quality).
- Clear definition of recipe and process flow diagrams in PLM, including critical parameters & tolerances for materials, semi-finished goods and processes.
- KPI and KAI (Success Index) consolidation & targets.
- Waste targets in line with IC Innovation Waste Policy.
- Launch monitoring plan – definition & formalisation of action standards for first months after launch.
- eMOC (equipment and/or process).
- Post project technical review.
You’re a born leader: Assist Product and Innovation Engineering Manager on capital, innovation, and value improvement projects in the Ice Cream category. Responsible for providing estimates, options assessment, and technical support for these projects. Carries out tasks related to project assessment, technical support and implementation with minimum supervision. Ensures compliance with Unilever Hygiene, equipment and safety standards, specifications, and best practices.
Includes formulation/process/equipment evaluations, industrial trials, preliminary engineering, project cost controls, timeline, commissioning plan, plant/equipment commissioning, production startup.
You’re a change maker: Our success is dependent on change, and the SUIT role is a critical contributor to driving improvements against all business metrics (safety, quality, finance, innovation, etc).
You’re a dot connector: Liaison with all key stakeholders (departments) to ensure full alignment with project scopes, timelines, impact and key project milestones. This role has significant interaction with R&D, Marketing and the impacted facility teams.

EssentialWhat you’ll need to succeed:
- 3+ years’ experience in Project Engineering with FMCG experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a project management role.
Professional engineering skills. - Project delivery experience.
- Experience managing project budgets.
- Firsthand experience / track record of delivering major capital projects in Ice cream category.
The pay range for this position is $88,600.00 to $. TMICC takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
