Provide specialized nursing care in a cardiac stepdown unit, delivering expert attention to patients recovering from critical cardiac events. This position requires strong clinical skills, patient-centered care, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Role Overview :
- Work nights on a 3x12 hour shift schedule, with 36 guaranteed weekly hours
- Serve on the Cardiac Transitional Care Unit, managing complex cardiac stepdown patients
- Maintain patient ratios averaging 3-4:1 using EPIC electronic medical records
- Participate in rotating weekends and float as needed within the unit
- Follow established protocols for medication administration, infection control, and patient safety
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with 1+ year of recent Stepdown/Cardiac Progressive Care experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficient in developing nursing diagnoses, care plans, and assessments uniquely tailored to cardiac stepdown patients
- Strong communication, documentation skills, and team collaboration
- Comfortable providing IV therapy including central line care, medication administration, wound care, and emergency response
- Ability to instruct patients and families on disease management and discharge planning
- Professional demeanor adhering to specified dress code (black scrubs)
- Monitor and document patient condition changes, coordinating care with healthcare team members
- Support emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs of patients and families
- Maintain infection control and safety standards aligned with Joint Commission guidelines
- Provide patient advocacy through vigilant safety practices and communication
- Supervise and delegate tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel as needed
- Perform other duties supporting organizational mission and patient care objectives
- Contract duration: 13-26 weeks (up to February 1, 2025)
- Candidates may request up to 5 days off every 13 weeks (subject to approval)
- Expect rotating weekends with at least one major holiday worked during assignment
- Flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr
1), with approved exemptions
