We are looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team of nurses who provide one‑on‑one care for consumers with developmental disabilities. The role requires a strong work ethic, prior experience with developmentally disabled individuals, and an active interest in enhancing patient well‑being.
Responsibilities- Administer medication and prescribed treatments; record and chart medications according to physician orders.
- Take vital signs and perform laboratory draws; observe patients to detect deviations from normal conditions.
- Provide bedside care, including feeding, personal hygiene assistance, and treatment of pressure sores.
- Assist with catheter insertion, bladder irrigation flushing, and other practical nursing duties.
- Assist Registered Nurses in preparing nursing assessment summaries and implementing health‑care plans.
- Participate in patient admission processes, nursing care planning, and discharge orders review.
- Transport clients to off‑site appointments and apply restraints when necessary.
- Educate patients and families on personal health care and basic rehabilitative practices.
- Provide training to direct support staff and perform other related work as assigned.
- Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Missouri or pursuant to Missouri's Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Knowledge of current nursing theory, practices, and techniques; skill in applying practical nursing principles to individuals with physical or mental illness, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and/or geriatric populations.
- Ability to work an assigned schedule that may include a variety of shifts, weekends, holidays, and/or required overtime.
- Strong communication skills: ability to collaborate with doctors, patients, families, and nursing assistants.
12‑hour shift, 9:00 am – 9:00 pm, rotating with every other weekend off.
