Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Civil Project Manager to oversee and drive our construction projects in Siliguri from conception to completion. You will be responsible for managing on-site execution, maintaining budgets, managing a diverse workforce, and ensuring strict adherence to quality and safety standards.

Given Siliguri’s strategic location and unique weather patterns, the ideal candidate must have solid experience navigating high-rainfall construction timelines (monsoon management), local vendor networks, and regional regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

Develop comprehensive project execution plans, schedules, and milestones using tools like MS Project or Primavera.

Supervise all day-to-day on-site civil construction activities, ensuring work aligns strictly with architectural and structural drawings.

Implement robust wet-weather construction strategies to mitigate delays during the heavy North Bengal monsoon season.

2. Budgetary & Material Management

Monitor project costs closely against budgeted estimates to prevent cost overruns.

Oversee the procurement and inventory of critical materials (cement, steel, aggregate, etc.), ensuring zero downtime due to supply chain gaps.

Verify and certify subcontractor bills, measurements, and invoices.

3. Stakeholder & Local Coordination

Coordinate directly with architects, structural consultants, and clients to resolve design or execution conflicts instantly.

Liaise with local government bodies and statutory authorities (such as the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority - SJDA, Siliguri Municipal Corporation, and local panchayats) for necessary approvals and compliance.

Manage local labor unions and sub-contractors tactfully to ensure smooth, uninterrupted workflow on site.

4. Quality Control & Safety (QHSE)

Enforce strict Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) protocols; conduct regular concrete cube tests, soil testing alignments, and material verification.

Maintain a zero-accident site by strictly enforcing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines, ensuring all labor wears appropriate PPE.

Required

Skills & Qualifications

Education:

B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering from a recognized institute. A post-graduate degree/diploma in Construction Management or a PMP certification is a strong plus.

Experience:

8 to 12 years of core execution experience in civil construction (Residential high-rises, Commercial complexes, or Infrastructure projects). At least 3 years in a managerial role.

Regional

Experience:

Prior experience executing projects in West Bengal, particularly North Bengal (Siliguri/Jalpaiguri region), is highly preferred.

Language:
Fluency in Bengali, Hindi, and English is essential for smooth communication with both corporate management and local site labor.

Software Proficiency:
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office (Excel), and MS Project.
