** Job Summary
** The Digital Media Design (B.A.) curriculum at FGCU focuses on the intersection of design and innovation. The Digital Media Design (DMD) Program is currently housed within the Daveler & Kauanui School of Entrepreneurship. Beginning with the 2026–27 academic year, DMD will transition to the Bower School of Music & the Arts, where it will become a fully integrated component of the FGCU Art & Design Program.

The curriculum has an emphasis on technology, design thinking, and emerging disciplines such as social media, UX/UI, AR/VR, Mixed or Extended Reality and video game design. Students of the DMD program are well prepared to begin careers in the design field or pursue entrepreneurial endeavors.
As Instructor of Digital Media Design, you will teach four courses per semester at the undergraduate level. There are opportunities to teach during the summer sessions for additional compensation.

** Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
* Teach assigned courses and adequately perform other duties/responsibilities as articulated on the annual assignment.
* Prepare and deliver course content, including syllabi, lectures, instructional materials, assessments, and timely evaluation of student performance.
* Maintain scheduled office hours and ensure timely, professional communication with students, colleagues, staff, and administrators.
* Participate in departmental, college, and university meetings, as well as faculty evaluations, assessments, and curriculum development/revision efforts.
* Utilize the university’s learning management system and other required campus-wide technologies to support teaching and related responsibilities.
* Complete all mandatory university trainings and comply with all institutional policies, procedures, and regulations.
* Engage in ongoing self-assessment and professional development to maintain effective instructional practices and remain current in the field.
* Contribute to service at the departmental, institutional, community, and professional levels in alignment with the University’s mission.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

* Required Qualifications:

*** Master’s degree (MA/MS) or higher in the Design disciplines or closely related from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline.
* Demonstrated evidence of ability to teach formal design principles, design processes and creative problem solving.

* Preferred Qualifications:

*** One year of teaching experience at undergraduate level.
* Evidence of ability to work with professional design studios or non-profit organizations and build relationships for internships and student careers.
