Job DescriptionPosition:
Library/Media Center Assistant
Experience:
Some experience in an office setting or school library is preferred.
- High School Diploma
- Care and concern for students’ well-being
- Technology and Computer Skills (experience with spreadsheets and Google Docs)
- Highly motivated
- Strong organizational skills
- Flexibility
- Relate positively to students, teachers, staff, and parents
- Assist with procedures and operations that relate to the orderly operation of the library media program
- Instruct, model, and reteach appropriate behaviors; reinforcing school-wide expectations while in the library and throughout the school
- Supervise students and instruct class as needed
- Be familiar with resources located in the library media center and assist teachers and students when locating materials and checking books in and out (using Follett/Destiny System)
- Assist with preparation of materials and supplies, displays, and annual inventory of library materials
- Perform other duties throughout the school as needed (cafeteria supervision, student drop-off and pick-up, etc.)
