• May function in patient care assistant and/or unit secretary role as directed.
• Provide support to the nursing staff and patient care under the guidance of licensed staff and leaders.
• Coordinate clerical activities for the unit/staff with patients, hospital departments, physicians, and other customers.
• Serve as the focal point of communication on the nursing unit.

• Completion of a clerical or medical terminology course.
• Completion certificate of Patient Care Assistant (PCA) or Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A.) course.
• Or current enrollment in an RN degree program with completion of fundamental nursing curriculum.
