SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for the daily operations of the Family Aquatic Center, including all pools and slides, dressing room facilities, offices and storage space, and pool equipment. The work includes supervision and training of a large staff, promotion and implementation programs, public relations, and daily facility maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInclude the following: (Other duties may be assigned as needed)
This position indirectly supervises seasonal employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the City’s policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Three years directly related aquatic experience.
- Considerable knowledge in planning, organizing, and implementing aquatics programs.
- Working knowledge of swimming pool filters, mechanical systems and the use of chemicals for swimming pool and water chemistry.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondences and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to rate, ration and percent, draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (if required)- Valid drivers’ license
- First Aid Certification
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer
- Lifeguard Certification
