Assists the Department of Social Science and Cultural Studies faculty and staff with a variety of tasks and functions in an office environment.
Performs basic office duties such as answering the phones, making copies and scans. Assists faculty and staff with paperwork. Revamping content and forms on Honors Programs website. Managing program logistics (scheduling meetings and monitoring and updating the calendar and taking stock of Honors Program property (currently scattered across campus). Field basic questions and direct students to the appropriate resources. Assists department by picking up and distributing mail and runs errands on campus.
Greets and helps any visitors to our suite. Creates documents and spreadsheets as needed. Assists with office organization and keeps storage areas tidy and organized. Provides a broad range of administrative functions. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts. Performs other duties as assigned.
Current WNMU student. Major/minor in HIST, POLS, SOC preferred.
Excellent customer service and communication skills. Skill in general office duties and office equipment to include telephones, copier, Fax, and computer/computer programs. Must be knowledgeable of University policies and procedures. Must be able to handle multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy. Must be sensitive to cultural differences within the University and community. Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications.
Normal office environment. May be required to lift normal office equipment and materials. Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information. Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication. Hearing ability for verbal communication/ conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions. Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing, and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
