Emergency Department RN
The Emergency Department RN is responsible and accountable for a group of patients for a designated time frame. This role provides care to patients using therapeutic nursing processes. Collaboration and integration with other health care team members are essential. The RN demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care relevant to the patients under their care. Principles of growth and development over the lifespan are applied.
Patient data is assessed and interpreted to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs. The RN functions as a primary RN in Triage, Main ED, and Fast Track. Additionally, the RN may float to other hospital areas as directed by leadership or the House Supervisor. When floated, the RN is expected to follow the guidance of the Charge Nurse in the assigned department.
Maintaining high standards of care and safety is imperative.
