Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly organized, detail oriented Senior Accountant to join our team at our corporate office in Silver Spring, MD. The ideal candidate will oversee full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and collaborate with both site teams and accounting staff.
Limited regional travel may be required.
Your Responsibilities- Oversee the monthly close for a portfolio of properties—journal entries, accruals, financial review, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Support the annual budget and year-end audit process.
- Provide quarterly financial reporting to lenders.
- Ensure annual tax and insurance payments are paid timely.
- Enter monthly intercompany JE’s.
- Respond to financial inquiries from internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Review collections with outside attorneys.
- Assists in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Do research and/or gather data for departmental projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field preferred.
- 4-6+ years of accounting experience—multifamily/residential preferred (or equivalent of education and experience).
- Working knowledge of GAAP required.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and knowledge of Real Page or Yardi preferred.
- Intermediate Excel skills and Microsoft 365.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
