The Honda Master Tech role at Sport Honda is a full-time, on-site position based in Silver Spring, MD. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing advanced diagnostic work, completing complex mechanical and electrical repairs, and conducting scheduled maintenance on Honda vehicles in accordance with manufacturer standards. The Honda Master Tech will use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment, consult technical service bulletins, and ensure all repairs are completed accurately and efficiently.
This role also involves documenting work performed, communicating findings and recommendations to service advisors, and supporting other technicians through mentorship and technical guidance. Maintaining a clean, safe work environment and adhering to all dealership and manufacturer policies is expected.
- Honda Master Technician certification or equivalent advanced Honda factory training.
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills in automotive electrical, mechanical, and drivability systems.
- Proficiency with modern automotive diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and service software.
- Ability to interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical service bulletins.
- Solid knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and manufacturer-recommended service schedules.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality workmanship, safety standards, and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to work with service advisors, teammates, and guests in a professional manner.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented service department and manage multiple repair orders.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- ASE certifications and prior Honda dealership experience are highly beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in automotive technology is preferred.
