Senior Contract Associate
At Toole Design, we’re leading the way in creating safer, more connected communities through sustainable multimodal transportation design. We’re looking for a Senior Contract Associate to join our Contracts/Compliance team, someone who is energized to support and strengthen impactful transportation projects from behind the scenes by providing contract expertise, managing risk, and delivering operational excellence that helps bring our mission and values to life.
The Senior Contract Associate position may work from either our Austin, Texas;
Minneapolis, Minnesota;
Raleigh, North Carolina;
Silver Spring, Maryland; or Spartanburg, NC offices
.
We are targeting a salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 for this position, with flexibility for well-qualified candidates.

You develop, review, negotiate, and administer agreements with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and partners to support successful project delivery and manage the firm’s contractual risk. Working collaboratively across teams, you identify potential contract and compliance issues, recommend practical solutions, and guide contracts through their full lifecycle—from review and drafting to execution and completion. You maintain accurate contract documentation, coordinate contract administration activities, and help ensure contractual obligations are met while supporting efficient business operations.
What You Bring:- A JD or master’s degree in law or related field; and/ or 3+ years in contract management. Five or more years of experience reviewing, negotiating, and administering contracts, preferably within a professional services, consulting, architecture, engineering, or related environment
- Strong knowledge of contract terms, risk management principles, and contract lifecycle administration
- Strong legal research skills with attention towards corporate structures and state compliance
- Experience independently analyzing complex contractual issues and developing practical, business-focused solutions
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
- A proactive, service-oriented mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and high-quality work
- An interest in contributing to a collaborative, values-driven organization focused on making a positive impact in communities
