Position Location and Vacancy

This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Performance, Risk, and Social Science Office (PRSSO), Social Science and Performance Division (SSPD) with one vacancy in Silver Spring, MD.

• 0110 series (Economics) – A degree in Economics with at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus.
• Combination of education and experience that fulfills the above requirements.

• At least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the federal service.
• Experience can be paid, unpaid, or volunteer (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps, professional, philanthropic, religious, community).
• For ZP-3 or GS‑11 level:
  Experience must include
  • Conducting socioeconomic studies on the economic impact of environmental phenomena such as severe or inclement weather or natural resources.
  • Assisting in performing quantitative or qualitative analysis in economic investigative studies.
• For ZP-4 or GS‑13 level:
  Experience must include
  • Planning and conducting socioeconomic research on environmental phenomena.
  • Leading quantitative and qualitative analysis in economic investigative studies.
  • Communicating economic analysis methods and research results to stakeholders.

• Substitution of education:
  Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
• Combination of education and experience: A completed graduate-level education combined with specialized experience, provided the graduate education exceeds the amount required for the next lower level.
