LHH is partnered with a global private equity firm headquartered in the Washington, DC metropolitan area that is seeking a Head of Platform Operations to help drive operational excellence and strategic execution across a growing portfolio of investments. This individual will work closely with investment professionals, executive leadership teams, and internal functional partners to improve performance, support business expansion initiatives, and strengthen the operating infrastructure that enables long-term value creation.

The role is highly visible, collaborative, and suited for a leader who enjoys working across multiple businesses and solving complex operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with investment teams and portfolio company leadership to advance strategic priorities and operational objectives.
  • Design and implement performance management processes, including key metrics, reporting tools, and business review frameworks.
  • Evaluate operating results, identify areas for improvement, and help leadership teams execute initiatives that enhance performance and scalability.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts focused on operational optimization, organizational effectiveness, and business growth.
  • Support the build-out and development of new investment platforms, establishing governance structures, reporting cadence, and operating disciplines.
  • Coordinate resources across finance, operations, corporate functions, and portfolio company management to drive execution of critical initiatives.
  • Assist with acquisition onboarding, integration planning, and post-transaction implementation activities.
  • Facilitate executive and board-level reporting by delivering clear insights into business performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Promote consistency, accountability, and operational rigor across a diverse portfolio of companies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management teams on matters relating to execution, growth, and organizational development.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience within private equity portfolio operations, consulting, business transformation, operational leadership, or a related environment.
  • Experience partnering directly with executive teams to execute performance improvement, growth, or strategic initiatives.
  • Strong foundation in operational performance measurement, KPI development, and business planning.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex projects across multiple stakeholders and business functions.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, organizational change initiatives, or business scaling efforts.
  • Excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and gain alignment across teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • High level of accountability, sound judgment, and attention to execution.

This posting is a representative sample of the types of roles we typically place with our clients. Depending on the specific client, location, and role, the base salary range is estimated to be $275,000 - $325,000 and benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
