Introduction
Maryland Public Television, commonly known as MPT, is a public television network that broadcasts throughout the entire state of Maryland and the District of Columbia and into parts of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. MPT is Maryland's only statewide broadcaster. Headquartered in Owings Mills, MPT is a member of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and is a producer of both locally and nationally distributed TV programs and digital content.

Main Purpose of the JobThis contractual position will support the Production Operations department with duties that range across the full gamut of production to final product. The individual will ensure programs maintain a high standard of technical excellence and may utilize promps, Gaffer and Grip levels, act as floor director, character generator (including senior), studio camera operators, videographers, remote camera operators, audio technicians, production director, production lighting director, production engineer‑in‑charge and/or editor.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- Two (2) years of experience in the television industry, or a bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Journalism or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Health, dental, accidental death and dismemberment, life insurance coverage with 75% subsidy for contractual employees working at least 30 hours a week.
- Leave accrual: 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours per calendar year, following 120 days worked in a 12‑month period.
