This full-time, on-site Physician Assistant role is based in Silver Spring, MD. The Physician Assistant will provide direct patient care, including conducting focused histories and physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians. Daily responsibilities include managing acute and chronic conditions, performing procedures within scope of practice, prescribing medications in accordance with regulations, and ensuring thorough documentation in the electronic health record.

The role also involves coordinating care across the multidisciplinary team, educating patients and families about diagnoses and treatment options, and supporting quality improvement initiatives aligned with Vituity’s standards of clinical excellence. The Physician Assistant is expected to maintain compliance with all regulatory and institutional policies while contributing to a collaborative, patient-centered care environment.

• Demonstrated clinical skills in patient assessment, differential diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment planning.
• Proficiency with procedures appropriate to the specialty setting (e.g., suturing, wound care, orthopedic assessments, point-of-care testing) as permitted by scope of practice.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, as well as patient and family education.
• Ability to use electronic health records and clinical information systems efficiently, with accurate and timely documentation.
• Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program and current NCCPA certification.
• Active or eligibility for Maryland Physician Assistant license, DEA registration as required, and maintenance of BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Commitment to patient-centered care, cultural humility, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development, quality improvement, and collaborative practice initiatives; prior experience in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or a related acute care setting is beneficial.
