Part-time Faculty Studio Art Instructor

Montgomery College invites applications for a part‑time faculty position teaching a 2‑D Design course in the Fall 2026 semester at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus. The role requires a dedicated educator who can motivate and educate students in an engaging manner.

• Teach courses in fundamentals of 2‑D design.
• Maintain classroom and follow safety guidelines.
• Monitor and utilize Blackboard.
• Keep track of student attendance and grades.
• Communicate with the Department Chair and staff regarding instructional needs.

• Master’s degree in Studio Art or related fields.
• Demonstrated commitment to promoting belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational environment.
• Eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor.
• Access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside the work location.
• Reside in Maryland or a state where the college has payroll reciprocity (DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA).
• Must complete a background check and degree verification at the time of hire.

• Previous teaching experience as an instructor of record at the post‑secondary level.
• Experience with a wide array of 2‑D practices, including drawing and painting.
• Familiarity with interdisciplinary and contemporary practices.
• Knowledge of non‑Western artistic practices.
