Position:
Teacher, Physical Education (FTE 1.0) – Francis Scott Key Middle School, FY27.

Wage range: $64,591 – $131,472 (based on education and experience).

Under the direction of the school principal, plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students, fostering an environment conducive to intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development, ensuring success for every student.

• Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.
• Maryland state certification in appropriate field of education.
• Preferred that at least one candidate is female.

• Design, implement, and assess instructional plans and materials to meet diverse student needs.
• Supervise students across various school-related settings.
• Maintain accurate records and follow required procedures and practices.
• Monitor student outcomes and evaluate instructional effectiveness.
• Manage appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and community.
• Attend school meetings, programs, and activities outside instructional time as required by the MCEA agreement.

As required by the duties and responsibilities of the job.

• Knowledge of MCPS curriculum, integration techniques, policies, and effective instructional practices.
• Understanding of the teaching and learning process.
• Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education.
• Ability to incorporate technology into the curriculum.
• Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school-based staff, students, parents, and community.
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
