Part-time WDCE Faculty ESL Noncredit Instructor

Position Overview

Montgomery College is hiring a part‑time faculty member to teach ESL (Non‑Credit) courses. Applications are accepted continuously and may be reviewed periodically based on student enrollment needs.

• Prepare the course using the ESL (Non‑Credit) program curriculum and submit a syllabus.
• Prepare and implement lessons and assessments.
• Evaluate and respond to student assignments.
• Report final grades and submit end‑of‑course paperwork.
• Meet with program staff and attend occasional faculty meetings.

• Master’s degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related field.
• English language teaching experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to promoting belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without a sponsor.

• Master’s degree in TESOL or Applied Linguistics.
• Experience teaching academically oriented ESL in colleges or universities.
• Experience learning a second language and living in another culture.
• For degrees earned outside the U.S., a copy of the education equivalency evaluation.

• Access to a personal computer with internet connectivity and virus protection; computer must be available outside the work location.
• Successful completion of a background check and degree verification (if applicable).
• Employees must live in Maryland or a state where the College has payroll reciprocity (DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA).
