Part-Time Faculty WDCE Nursing Instructor

Montgomery College, Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus, is accepting applications for part‑time faculty members to teach in the WDCE (Non‑Credit) Nursing programs, which include Certified Nursing Assistant, Delegating Nurse, Nurse Refresher, and Medication Aide courses. The position is open for a continuous cycle and is filled on an as‑needed basis.

• Teach Maryland Board of Nursing approved Certified Nursing Assistant courses and other WDCE Nursing courses.
• Collaborate with the Program Manager to develop a schedule for each session.
• Update course materials and syllabi as needed.
• Evaluate student performance in the classroom and/or clinical, and provide feedback to students promptly.
• Utilize Blackboard to build and share course content.
• Manage classroom attendance and record grades in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with other faculty to provide an optimal learning experience.
• Teach in a face‑to‑face, clinical, and/or structured remote setting on a varied schedule that may include days, evenings, or weekends.

• Associate degree in nursing.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license through the Maryland Board of Nursing.
• Two years of nursing experience, at least one year of which was in caring for the elderly or chronically ill in the past five years.
• Completed a course with at least 16 hours of instruction in the principles of adult education, or at least two years of teaching experience.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment, and willingness to contribute to Montgomery College’s strategic plan of inclusion.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without a sponsor.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing or a healthcare related field.
• Prior teaching experience in one or more of the following areas:
  Certified Nursing Assistant, Delegating Nurse, Nurse Refresher, Medication Aide.
• Active clinical practice, especially as applicable to clinical skills in the course content.

• Approval by the Maryland Board of Nursing to serve as Certified Nursing Assistant instructor.
• Successful completion of a background check and degree verification (if applicable). For international degrees, provide U.S. degree equivalency verified by a nationally recognized credential evaluation service.
• Access to a personal computer with virus protection and the ability to connect to the internet outside of the work location (e.g., office, classroom, college campus). If lacking, notify the department chair at the time of interview. Temporary access may be provided if funds allow.
• Ability to use Blackboard and other faculty communications tools provided by Montgomery College.
