GTSC and its Global Sciences and Technology (GST) business unit seeks an Educational Outreach Specialist (III) to lead the operations of the NOAA Outreach Center, including maintaining over 100 collections of major education and outreach products from across the Agency; designing and developing an estimated 3 to 5 new education and outreach products annually to fill gaps and respond to audience needs;
disseminating such products to educators, students, and the public; responding to general public inquiries about NOAA and NOAA education; and providing guidance and expert advice to NOAA staff engaged in public outreach activities.
This position is contingent upon contract being awarded.
Primary Duties- Plan, coordinate, and support NOAA education participation in education conferences, meetings, workshops, civic events, etc.; coordinate with internal and external partners as needed.
- Designs and develop educational outreach materials and publications.
- Assist with the planning and development of educational exhibits for NOAA booths in educational conferences.
- Assist with the development and coordination of products and services designed to promote education programs and efforts of NOAA's Office of Education and the NOAA education community.
- Coordinate with educational outreach professionals across NOAA to ensure consistency of approach and share best practices and lessons learned.
- Bachelor's degree in education, communications, or related fields.
- Minimum of 4 to 6 years of work experience.
