Salary range: $66,690 – $135,745, based on education and experience.

Summary DescriptionUnder the direction of the school principal, plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students in special programs such as medical careers, global ecology, magnet, and the Middle Years Programme (IB). Creates an environment conducive to intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development for all students. Supervises students in various school settings, monitors and evaluates student outcomes, and communicates with students, parents, staff, and community.
Chooses and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet diverse student needs, maintains records, and follows required procedures. Oversees proper use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.

Special RequirementsRequired to attend school meetings, programs, and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by the MCEA agreement.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of MCPS curriculum, curriculum integration techniques, MCPS policies, and effective instructional practices. Understanding of the teaching/learning process. Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education. Ability to infuse technology into the curriculum. Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school-based staff, students, parents, and community. Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
Education,Training, and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a pertinent field of education from an accredited college or university. Meets Maryland state certification requirements in the appropriate field of education.
