Teacher, Grade 4, Harmony Hills ES, 1.0 FTE (26004I7)
Under the direction of the school principal, the teacher plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students. Creates an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure Success for Every Student. Supervises students in a variety of school-related settings, monitors and evaluates student outcomes, and communicates with students, parents, staff and the community.
Develops, selects and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices. Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities.

Responsibilities- Plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students under the direction of the school principal.
- Create and maintain an environment conducive to students’ intellectual, physical, social and emotional development.
- Supervise students in diverse school settings and monitor student outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and the community.
- Develop, select and modify instructional plans and materials to meet diverse student needs.
- Maintain accurate records and follow required procedures and practices.
- Monitor the use and care of equipment, materials and facilities.
- Knowledge of MCPS curriculum, integration techniques, policies and effective instructional practices.
- Understanding of the teaching/learning process and ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education.
- Ability to infuse technology into the curriculum and work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school-based staff, students, parents and the community.
- Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
- Knowledge and application of the six performance standards for MCPS Teacher Professional Growth System (TPGS) and the SSPGS.
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.
- Meets Maryland state certification requirements in the appropriate field of education.
Required to attend school meetings, programs and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by the MCEA agreement.
Compensation & BenefitsThe wage range for this position is a salary between $66,690 and $135,745 based on education and experience. For information about benefits, please refer to the district’s official resources:
