Position Overview
The Athletic Academic Advisor provides academic counseling for assigned teams within the Academic Center for Student‑Athletes, coordinates the tutorial program, monitors academic progress, ensures compliance with NCAA eligibility requirements, and supports student‑athlete success.
Responsibilities- Monitor the academic progress of assigned teams.
- Assist in coordinating the tutorial program.
- Assist in monitoring continuing eligibility.
- Instruct a freshman introduction to the university course (fall only).
- Assist in the recruitment and orientation of new student‑athletes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in counseling, education, special education, curriculum and instruction, sports administration, or a related field.
- At least one year of professional experience working with student‑athletes in academic advising, teaching, or counseling.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and written skills.
- Master's Degree in counseling, education, or sports administration.
- Three years of professional experience working with student‑athletes in academic advising, teaching, or counseling, preferably at a Division I level.
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
