Multilingual K-12 Computer Science & Programming Educator
We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and multilingual Computer Science Educator to teach K-12 computer programming and young adult computer science courses. The ideal candidate not only possesses a strong foundation in software concepts and coding but is also fluent in Spanish, French, and/or Mandarin to support our diverse, global student body. Key Responsibilities- Instruction & Curriculum Delivery: Teach engaging, age-appropriate computer programming and computer science lessons to K-12 students and young adults (ages 5–22).
- Multilingual Support: Deliver select lessons, workshops, or academic support in English and at least one of the following languages:
Spanish, French, or Mandarin. - Student Engagement: Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and encouraging virtual or physical classroom environment that sparks curiosity in STEM.
- Personalized Mentoring: Provide individualized tutoring and feedback to help students grasp complex computational thinking concepts, debugging strategies, and syntax.
- Progress Tracking: Assess student comprehension, monitor project development, and provide regular progress reports to students and parents/guardians.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching, tutoring, or mentoring students in computer science, STEM fields, or K-12 education.
- Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in English AND proficiency in at least one of the following:
Spanish, French, or Mandarin (native or bilingual proficiency preferred). - Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with block-based coding (Scratch, Blockly) for younger students.
- Proficiency in text-based programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Java, or C++), blender and adobe for older students and young adults.
- Understanding of fundamental computer science concepts (loops, conditionals, variables, algorithms, data structures).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Education, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for youth education.
- Experience teaching in international schools, dual-language immersion programs, or online tutoring platforms.
- Background in developing STEM curriculum or lesson plans.
- Certifications in education or specific coding bootcamps.
