Long-Term Substitute Teacher – Elementary School

Employment Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Compensation: $30.00 per hour

Forcey Christian School is seeking a caring, Christ-centered Long-Term Substitute Teacher to provide instructional continuity in an elementary classroom during an extended teacher absence. The successful candidate will create a safe, engaging, and academically challenging learning environment while supporting the school’s mission of developing students spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally from a biblical worldview.

Long-term substitute teachers are expected to assume the classroom teacher’s daily responsibilities, maintain instructional excellence, communicate professionally with parents and staff, and actively participate as members of the school community.

• Deliver daily instruction using the school’s approved curriculum and lesson plans.
• Create a classroom environment that promotes academic growth, positive behavior, and Christian character.
• Assess student learning and provide timely feedback.
• Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and classroom records.
• Integrate biblical principles throughout instruction whenever appropriate.

• Establish and maintain classroom expectations consistent with school policies.
• Foster a respectful, nurturing, and Christ-honoring classroom culture.
• Promote student responsibility, cooperation, and servant leadership.
• Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.

• Collaborate with administrators, grade-level teachers, specialists, and support staff.
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Attend required faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as assigned.
• Participate in lesson planning and curriculum discussions.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school operations.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; associate degree and 3 to 4 years of experience considered.
• Teachable, flexible; classroom management is a must-have
• Experience teaching or working with elementary-aged children preferred.
• Demonstrated Christian faith consistent with the mission and values of Forcey Christian School.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, parents, and administration.
• Successful completion of all required background checks.
