Estimator, Engineering, Civil Engineering

Metric is partnered with a well-established civil site work contractor in Maryland that is looking to hire an experienced Estimator to support continued growth across public and private sector projects throughout the state.

This is a key position within the business, offering long-term stability, strong leadership exposure, and the chance to influence bid strategy and profitability.

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive estimates for civil site development projects
, working closely with ownership, project management, and operations teams.

• Develop full-scope estimates for civil site work projects including earthwork, grading, utilities, stormwater, and paving
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
• Review plans, specifications, and contract documents (DOT and local municipality experience a plus)
• Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier bids
• Participate in bid strategy, risk assessment, and value engineering
• Support preconstruction through project handoff
• Maintain cost history and contribute to estimating best practices

• 5+ years of experience estimating civil/site work projects
• Strong understanding of Maryland DOT, county, and municipal work preferred
• Experience with both public and private site development projects
• Proficiency with estimating tools such as HCSS, Agtek, Bid2
  
  Win, Bluebeam
  , or similar
• Ability to manage multiple bids independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and commercial skills
