Prescient Edge is seeking a Journeyman Systems Engineer II to support a Federal Government client.

Salary range: $90,000 - $105,000. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and the abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
Description- Responsible for supporting the development, documentation, integration, and testing of SOF communication systems.
- Work includes the development and analysis of system requirements, specification of development and test procedures, execution of system and subsystem integration and testing, creation of system and training documentation, and performing formal system acceptance testing.
- Develop, integrate, and assemble complete communications "systems of systems" to support U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF).
- Leverage previous projects and tasks to develop new SOF communication system requirements, capabilities, and implementations.
- Recommend equipment, services and capabilities that cover the full scope of SOF communications systems.
- Assist with the integration of SOF communications systems into the SOF operational architecture.
- Provide research, analysis, and design recommendations on tools and services that enhance the implementation and sustainment of SOF communication systems.
- Identify solutions for SOF communications operations support in austere operating environments.
- Support diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving communications hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replacing defective or end‑of‑life components when necessary.
- Utilize software and hardware tools to diagnose and identify complex problems and factors affecting SOF communication system performance.
- Experience conducting the systematic translation of product requirements into total systems solutions that adhere to technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Engineering or technical experience working with military or SOF communications systems.
- Experience performing systems integration of SOF communications solutions.
- Experience developing design documentation including hardware and software architectural, functional, and interface descriptions.
- Ability to perform requirements analysis and verify the validity, traceability, and testability of existing requirements.
- Experience performing functional analysis.
- Experience developing system architectures, mechanical designs, and electrical designs.
- Experience conducting trade studies and analyses for product selection.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work closely with test teams to facilitate systems integration, verification, and test.
- Self‑starter with a strong desire to solve complex problems and learn new skills and technologies.
- Ability to define systems processes, interfaces and architectures including design and reverse engineering where necessary.
- Solid understanding of the application of Systems Engineering principles.
- Experience generating artifacts to be used during design reviews.
- General USSOCOM experience.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or other related technical discipline.
- Must have an active U.S. DoD Secret Clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- WOLF (Webster Outlying Field) in St. Inigoes, Maryland.
