Senior Network Engineer

Job Overview

Nightwing is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain advanced network solutions for mission‑critical operations, requiring TS/SCI clearance.

• Provide input to design of the organization’s network and mission architecture.
• Report any known or suspected COMSEC incidents immediately.
• Perform configuration, test, deployment, and maintenance of all network equipment.
• Configure and optimize the network to connect front‑end and back‑end components, minimizing latency and maximizing throughput.
• Develop algorithms for modules or models used in research and development of technologies and systems.
• Inspect material for evidence of tampering and submit reports of suspected physical incidents.
• Maintain network diagrams and accreditations.
• Integrate hardware and software to satisfy ISO
  9000 requirements and other DoD/IC regulations.
• Design, integrate, test, and deploy solutions to address established network issues.
• Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements, including load balancing, VPNs, firewalls, traffic shaping, VoIP, IP encryption, MoIP, and NAT.
• Coordinate with system engineering and dataflow efforts to ensure proper mission operations and minimize downtime.
• Design, integrate, configure, deploy, test, and provide ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces, and methodologies.
• Gather necessary data to specify system/component performance and interface requirements.
• Manage, develop work schedules, and direct the work of junior engineers.

• 12 years of relevant professional experience providing Network Engineering support.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree may substitute for two additional years of experience, reducing the required experience to 6 years.
• Five additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
• TS/SCI clearance with FSP required.
• Strong knowledge of network design, performance monitoring, and DoD/IC regulations.

Salary range: $122,000–$253,000, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and expertise. Benefits include medical, vision, and dental insurance coverage, a 401(k) plan, PTO, holidays, and additional insurance options.
